She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I have to be able to leave for 3-5 days without an incubator sitter. Amy, maybe it's time to step up to that Brinsea so you can get out of the house a little more!
LOL. It doesn't usually matter, because I don't usually have anywhere to go. But I don't usualy make plans to be away for hours when I am incubating. I am hopefully taking my first vacation in two years on the 4th of July weekend. My sister is supposed to come stay with my dad so I can go to Syracuse, (I moved down there after college and lived in the area 12 years.) My other sister and my best friend live down there and I can't wait to go. It is much needed, let me tell you!!

That sounds nice! And it sure does sound like you need it. Maybe there will be a nice man there too

(is your son going, or will your sister watch him too?)

No, if sc thinks I'm bad with my chicks, he'd die where my son is concerned. lol My son has never been away from me for more than a few hours...lol He will be going. Actually as much as I want to go myself, it's his persistance that has made me "pick a date" so to say. That and my sister needs lots of advanced notice to do it. He loves his "aunts" and all the kids....lol (It's only a vacation in the terms that I am away from caring for my dad for a couple days, by the time I get home after being around everyone elses kids, and jerk husbands, I'm thankful. I usually need a vacation from my vacation...lol)

I was trying to think of something smarmy to say, but now I'm just sad...

LMAO. Don't worry, he's a well rounded child. He has his independence. He's a momma's boy, but in a good way. But there is no mistake I am a momma bear. I'm Paige from "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle."

Now, in other news: 72 hours into the pullet experiment and I can see development in 5 out of the 6 candle eggs. The other one is a green egg and I kind of set the flashlight down yesterday while it was on apparently and when I picked it up last night it was still on and my beam is a little weak, so I have to get new batteries and then hopefully I'll be able to see in that one too. But the 5 that I can illuminate show a perfect little "spider" on the yolk, just like in the pictures on the progression thread. I took a couple pics and going to see if I can edit the lighting to enhance, but I doubt that will happen. So we have officially started day 3. Still running dry. It's colder here today so the bator has been hanging in the low end of 99. I turned the brooder light on to get a bit more heat in the room w/o adjusting the bator itself. Seems to be working fine. It'll be off while I am gone, so I hope the bator will hold out evenly. Getting ready to go so
