She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Good pics. So that's what the inside of an egg looks like?

Ok, here's the fun and games for today: Voice Recognition

You know how when you are reading someone's post, you subconsciously give them a voice? I got to thinking about this last night, and I was all wrong, so I'm going to try and add some personality to the avatars. I will start with myself

I guess I sound like a cross between Blake Shelton and Bo Duke

The one that made me realize I was imagining wrong is Amy. She looks like a little southern belle in her avatar, but she's from way up yonder, so now I am trying to imagine she sounds like Snookie

, not for nuthin'

The TN accent is very similar to SC, but BYC 910 is older than me, so I imagine he sounds more like Uncle Jesse than Bo Duke. If anyone doesn't know who those 2 people are, shame on you

WVduckchick is harder to pinpoint. That's an entirely different breed of redneck, so her accent will depend on whether she lives up on the hill, or down in the holler. Too far north to sound southern, too far south to sound like a Yankee. Just remember, she comes from a state that puts "By God" in the State's name

Yorkshire Coop is easy: Madam Judy Dench

Walnut Hill is from Michigan, but she also fishes, so I'm going with Captain Sig from Deadliest Catch

Lazy Gardner I just can't figure out. Do you eat lobster, or lobsta?

Feel free to join in and tell your guesses, or say who you think you sound like

Haha! That's hilarious. I'll play along... I grew up in the Charleston area, mainly a city girl with more "proper" speaking rednecks, so I don't have a huge southern drawl. But both men that I married were from further south than me, so you know, they say you tend to develop habits like those you are around most. Siri can't understand my husband. I told him voice recognition wasn't designed for country hick! He loves it when I quote Holly Hunter from Raising Arizona... "High, I said go get me a baby!" or Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality "You wanna kiss me.. you think I'm sexy".... lmao! I think I'd lean more toward Martina McBride.... too bad I can't carry a tune in a bucket though.

Hi @scflock I understand that you have the brinsea. I recently got the spot check and I have the sneaking suspicion that my octagon 20 has been running about .5 a degree low. I am on day 20 today and at lock down my embryos looked smaller than they should at dat 18. Would it be worth it to raise the temp .2 of a degree at this late in the game or just leave it and pray.
Thanks.

LMAO! I used to have a big crush on Bo Duke growing up. Used to fight with my sis over who got Bo and who got Luke...lol I saw Yorkshire more as Julie Andrews. I don't know why. lol I do NOT sound like snookie...lol I can tell you that. As for how I sound, I was born and bred in New York State. (Upstate.) My father all three of my siblings were Jacksonville Florida born. My mom was from here so they had the brilliant idea of moving back to NY and had me here. I got thrown in speech class in school cause I grew up listening to the way my father talked and couldn't pronounce "r" to save my life my car came out caw and my far came out faw. So after I got schooled in NY speech I guess I held fast to pronounciating and am very proper in my speech in public, more relaxed (but not redneck....lol) at home. I believe the way you talk and sound gives people their first perception, you sound like a ghetto dog, they're going to think you are and treat you like one. You sound educated, you're going to be taken seriously and treated rightly. So I strive to talk proper and pronounciate...lol Now sc, I think of Lucas Black (Chris LaSalle in NCIS New Orleans) with an Adam Sandler sense of humor. I see BYC more as Ralph Waite (Daddy on the Waltons not to mention Leroy Jethro GIbb's daddy and Seeley Booth's grandad.) RIP and bless his soul. I have to admit (hope it's not insult) I see WV like me because we seem to be a lot alike. Lazy Gardener, I can't help it, I see Aunt Bea. So those are my character attributes.
Don't hurt me!

It's the JD Black, isn't it?

Thanks.
This late in the game, I would leave it like it is. Some people actually lower the temp. a degree or two on the last few days. If you were only a half a degree low, it won't kill them, but it could delay the hatch. If you have a drawn out hatch, only getting a chick or two every few hours, or if the majority of your hatching is on days 22 and 23, then I would consider raising the temp on the display to 100.0
My first two hatches were delayed like that, but they still hatched healthy. After bumping up a half degree, it is like popcorn on day 21 now. I would finish this hatch at your current settings, see how the hatch goes, and make adjustments from there

Dang close...I am of Finnish descent rather than Norwegian, but the nasal fast talking southern Michigan aspect comes through. My parents have been in Texas 25 years and haven't lost that yet.

For Amy, I don't hear the New York thing as she's upstate. My son went to RPI. I hear a little of the Vermont twang.

SC, your voice as described is how I pictured it. Southern voice is so soothing.
