She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

wow, Silkies PC post has really put a kibosh on some funny posts I woulda posted...

Ain't it the truth!
Haha glad to see I could influence a bunch of people older than I in a positive way.

Silkie, your a great kid, and a great addition to the thread. Please don't take this the wrong way. The average age of Sarah's thread is about 14. The average age of this thread is older than your parents. We are going to talk just a little differently to each other than BR talks to Peeps. We're not doing anything obscene, but we will ambiguously try to make each other laugh. Neither of us said anything blatantly disgusting. We save that for the PMs:thumbsup

How on earth do you know the average age of the posters on a thread?
Because he's a thread creeper/lurker/reader/haunter. Jk. But he sure is perceptive if he can gather that from reading a couple pages.

The conversation on here transitions constantly! It's hilariously strange. TV shows, genders, black snakes, humidity spikes, I can't keep up.

On Wednesday afternoon I expect to become the owner of a non-working GQF 1200 series incubator (1202 or 1266 most likely, photos and description over phone leave much to be desired) and non-working Brower brooder. YAY!

Now...how do I borrow the truck and get the thing inside without explaining why I need the truck? LOL.

I am selling the Leahy 65-O redwood incubator that has been featured in all my recent webcam hatch-a-longs. It holds 65 chicken eggs, but only 40 or so turkey eggs and I need more capacity for hatching. I will probably rebuild my homebuilt incubator as a dedicated hatcher. If interested in the Leahy, let me know!

Good news and bad news.

Good...I have 5 pips so far.
Bad...1 of my 7 week old hens was killed in the main coop an hour ago. I had been in that coop not 10 minutes earlier...

...and it was one of the few almost pure white ones I had...

...so I scooped all the others up and threw them back into the young flock...I will try again at 8 weeks. Die and learn I guess...

to busy to even read today got more chickens than I should It's the middle of the night and I should be sleeping. sorry about your pullet I've heard If you do something to make them all smell the same they will not attack them I don't know If that's true but It might be worth a try.

This is the set up in my incubator .

I see your using a acuwrong did you calibrate the hygrometer that brand is not very good I don't have much faith in them . go to walmart and get a fish tank thermometer cost $3 put it in with the one you have .that will give you the best cheap temp reading good luck with your hatch. a good hygrometer will cost quit a bit more

Update on my bra egg!

Chick is now well into the air cell and my bra is tweeting! I don't see any pip yet, but i feel it pecking and moving inside. This is pretty amazing :)

(anyone that's not read my other post my broody left her last egg in the nest after the others hatched and i'm now incubating it in my bra!)

Yeah, i don't really know how the actual hatching is going to work. Probably going to be messy! I think it will hatch sometime during the night tonight and i doubt i'm going to get any sleep. Not much space in my bra for it to pop out so I'm probably going to have to take it out of there to hatch and just keep it close on my skin. I'm thinking paper towels will be necessary.....Exciting though!
