She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Tired, but happy. My dad had a nice bday party, he loved his cake. He's wore out though.  Overall it was a success.  :thumbsup   Even had some chicken convo going on...lol

Glad you had a good time and your dad got to enjoy his day! We went to a family gathering too. Got to see my dads side of the family after not seeing them for many years. It was nice. Did you post a pic of your dads cake?? Hoping all the chicks are ok when I get home!

What time of night does everyone lock up their chickens for the night?

Ok, the first pic is the one I assisted and almost lost. And then the second one is the second to hatch. I'm trying not to disturb them to much because I keep reading they can die of stress during the first 2 weeks. They are fragile birds. But they are eating & drinking good. And they really like to pick on each other. If one is sleeping the other jumps on his head to wake him up. Or if one is eating the other goes and bites his toes. Very funny to watch! Thank you for asking!!!

They look and behave very much like young heritage turkeys! The peas have longer beaks.

I got home and opened my four "today" eggs. Three live, one I missed by a couple of hours, it died after pipping and could not move. None of them could move...there was literally NO space in the shell. This was a staggered set so there is a Monday egg and a Tuesday egg remaining.

Hello again, the reptile thermometer and the LG thermometer are both on the same temp. My digital isn't I'm getting a reading of 100 and humidity is at 50 without water...will the humidity be okay for duck eggs?

That's cool! My older ones are usually in their coop and roosting between 8-8:30 the teens between 8:30-9 so usually we are locked up by 9.

The players are modeling chocolate, and man they were hard to do in the heat of the house and my hands being so hot. But I think they came out all right and dad loved them, so I guess that's what matters...lol
