There is something really awesome about spending the whole day handling poultry and...

The funky smell that comes with grocery store chicken isn't there...

There is no slime like packaged chicken...

The fat is minimal and not grossly greasy...

7 chickens yielded 3# of wings (first and second joint only)

17 chickens yielded 96.58 pounds of usable meat.  8 whole fresh, 3 whole frozen, and 6 cut up and bagged as thighs, drumsticks, and breasts (yielding 34.75 pounds plus wings)

Several of the breasts (two halves) were 3 to 4 pounds.

My goodness, your breasts weighed more than my chickens. Another thing I noticed when eating them was how cleanly the meat came off the bone.

I don't attach mine to anything..but I do slide it up in a window in my hatcher so the chicks don't get tangled in it
I lay it flat on on top of eggs in the incu..

Your chickens looked amazing. I bet they will taste great and be so much more nutritious. Good Job!!

Even better, I sold 9 of them and paid the chick and feed costs for all of them. We get 8 for essentially free!

I need a name for my stupid white silkie. I have 2 and I named one Gabe (Gabriel Iglesias, I'm not fat, I'm fluffy!) lol. I thought it was a boy but still not sure, so it may end up Gabby. The other one, probably female, is so stupid! And she's a loner. I keep calling her dumb@ss so I really need a better name. Even though she is dumb, she's still a keeper, so any suggestions?
