She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Hatch pretty much done :yesss:

26/27 hatched, the last egg not showing any signs of action. Number 26 just out so once it's dry will move the last 4 into brooder with others and give the last egg a quick candle. Maybe it's just being a slow coach :idunno

Lots more colours this time and a couple I would really like to keep but will have to see, can I really add any more

Broody polish still sitting :weee

Congrats on the wonderful hatch, Yorkshire! Update when you candle the last egg. Where did you get these eggs from? I googled the chamois and you are right on, that's what they are called in the UK. They seem to be pretty popular over there from what I read. I still can't get the picture you posted, of those two babies out of my head! I found an amazing breeder. Here they are called buff laced polish frizzles. But she's in CA & I'm in NY. That would be the furthest I've had eggs shipped. Still thinking about it! Anyway, enjoy your new babies!!

Well, I just found out some black faced hornets built a nest under the shed rafters.  Trouble is I found out the hard way.  Got stung several times in the face and eyelid, I have a history of allergic reactions to stings.  Gonna lay low and ice it and hope that a trip to the hospital isn't necessary.

Awesome timing, with 25 people coming for dinner tomorrow.  At least they are family.  It's also my 29th anniversary, so no dinner out for at least a few days so I don't look like a horror movie character.

Yikes! That stinks. My grandma swears by putting ammonia on hornet stings. I hope you're okay. Happy Anniversary!

Thanks so much

Yes it's her first time and mine too with a broody

I'm just trying to leave her be and do her thing. I've been leaving the food after she has been out flat so I know she is eating. But with the size of the poops she is doing I can certainly tell when she has been of the nest. My son as soon as he gets in from school always looks at the chickens before he comes in the house, he came runing in the other day saying I must go outside immediately as the poop was that big there must be something wrong with her!! He got it once I explained about broody hens. Top marks to him though for poop spotting!!
That's funny..lol

Ouch. That sucks. Happy Anniversary though. Hope they don't cause too much problems.

When I was a kid my father chewed that nasty tabacco. And every time we had a bee sting he would try to get me to let him put some tabacco (yes, out of his mouth) on the sting, claiming it would draw out the stinger and make it feel better. I'd run and put mud on it first...lol

I bet it was the digestive enzymes in the saliva more than the tobacco that took out the sting.

So sorry you got nailed, Walnut! And on your anniversary, to boot. Happy anniversary to you and your hubby. Have him be extra nice to you tonight!

Ouch! That must hurt like heck! Might try some Benadryl before bed, it may help.

Granny always told me to put saliva on bug bites. Still do to this day!

Hiya folks. Mutt Egg has made a little progression, some spider web like breaking a little higher up on the egg. Still sounds good and peeping in there so is doing well. And Surpise Surprise, egg number two has pipped 2 days early lol So so far so good in my little homemade styro :)
