She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

That is hilarious!!!!! I guess I am lucky that I am not that into sweets. I like chocolate (dark) only every once in awhile. Other than that I eat pretty healthy overall, except for that juicy rare bone in ribeye steak!!! LoL!!!! :pop  and popcorn! :gig

Popcorn is made almost nightly at my house. Love the old jiffy pop! And we have a well-used "stir crazy" lol. No microwave bags though.

So I picked up some tomato plants that were on sale yesterday. I didn't have any extra planters to put them in so I figured I would use some plastic containers and cut holes in the bottom for drainage. I rummaged through my husbands tool box and pulled out a pocket knife. Except the spring was broke and the knife closed on my finger. Didnt hurt at first, that's how I knew it was bad. Go to the ER clinic, Dr says I most certainly need stitches. She asks me if I'm scared of needles and I said "no, just talk about something while your doing it and I'll be fine.". She tells me all about this YouTube video about a mother rabbit and how I should be able to appreciate it because I'm a mom. I just looked it up and since we're talking rabbits...

scflock, so my Brinsea 40 Advanced EX arrived...woot!! And I got 56 eggs to choose from that were layed in the last week, so I can stock it. I decided I would go ahead and fire it up ASAP, and will delay my next Styrobator hatch till the Brinsea is done.

So, couple of questions scflock.

  1. Do I need to run it for 24 before I put my eggs in?
  2. I have chicken eggs that are as big as 68g, are they too big? If so, what max size would you use?
  3. Any other suggestions about choosing eggs? My last bator batch I just checked yesterday, and all but 3 outta 41 were fertile, so I think I'm good in that regard.

That is so bizarre! I'm amazed. Never know what a momma animal is capable of huh.

1. I set an hour after mine arrived. It stabilizes that quickly
2. If the lid closes over the egg, it's not too big
3. I just pick the cleanest ones and don't wash

Well it made me laugh...but your comment about it made me laugh even more!!!!

X 2. I thought it was kind of creepy/hilarious!

Ouch! Hope your finger heals well, and doesn't hurt too much. Did they make you get a tetanus shot? I hate those things!

This will make you feel more awkward.

So, if I decide to make a back-up incubator, just in case, which would be a better casing? An extra cooler with no lid, or try to get ahold of a styrofoam box and poke holes in it for ventilation? I already have a heating pad and will be getting a thermometer and a hygrometer (both of which I'll be calibrating). I need to do it on the cheap, though... I do have extra coolers with lids, but I don't want to drill holes in them right now.
I would use whatever I had on hand. I would think they are about the same. The only other thing I would check first is the free listings on craigs list to see if there are any broken mini fridges on there. That would be great.

Rabbits are pretty easy. Especially if your daughter takes care of them.
