Yes I did experience some temp spike towards the end due to the temperature increase outside. We have been experiencing some serious heat here in NC. And I am fairly certain that influenced my temps. Thats why i feel its partly my fault he came out the way he did. And I feel I need to try everything in my power to right it. But at the same time I think it is genes also because they had some pretty rough conditions where i got the eggs from. I also had gotten 2 white jerseys that had some mild bumblefoot (since then have been nabbed by some animal and are missing). They were from up in the mountains in a wetter climate.

If the egg was under a broody, and not in your incubator, do you think your weather would have any different an effect?

And its our anniversary. :D Not the official day, but the time we have open to celebrate. She has no idea that it takes 21 days to incubate. I think when I talk chickens she says MMMhhhmmm and nods while she thinks of other things.

I think this is the right thread I was recommended to. I hate to butt in on the middle of all the merriment. But I am having a chick problem and need some help he hatched on Monday (1st out of the 3 to hatch). He has a severly crooked leg. I dont know whats wrong or how to fix it so I was wondering if one of you more experienced chicken peeps could help me. He can't bend his leg and the foot pad faces outward. Almost like his leg is turned at the "knee". He tries his hardest to just hop on one foot but that can only get him so far.

This is another example of why this thread was started. Personally, I would cull it, but if you don't want to do that maybe others can help
