She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Super cute!
I do like rabbit. I think it tastes like turkey. But these little fluff balls are 2-3 pounds max. For pure cuteness. I would eat a NZ rabbit in a heartbeat, but I also hunt furry things and they are delicious.

I would have to say that Elk is up there on my favorite wild game second to Caribou and in third Moose.

It is probably the best meat as far as flavor AND texture. Moose is closer in flavor to beef, but it's pretty grainy and a little tougher.

How does one sell thousands of chicks a year? I am worried about selling my few ducklings I am hatching.

I wonder the same thing! LoL!!
He doesn't sell them. Folks take baskets of eggs to him to incubate and he hatches them for the client and gives them back the chicks. I guess he's been doing it for years.

When my incubator is empty I will offer up the service on my classifieds and see if it flies. Then I can hatch and not have to brood the chicks.

Yeah - i haven't eaten rabbit in a while, but we used to hunt them when i was younger before all the bleeding hearts got it outlawed.

@scflock I had to wait for to slap someone SC- i can hardly slap a post that is weeks old.

@AmyLynn2374 I would move the nest boxes if you can - That might get them back in use. The chooks at the farm pick a new spot to lay eggs every few months.

There was also a recent question roosting habits.

A chook that is used to roosting will still not if the roost is to hard to get to, too low, too hot or too cold, and especially if there is a draught. if you have a section of roost the chooks wont use, you often need to turn the roost, or move your vents.

Is a good idea. I might try my hand at it, make a few more incubators if there's interest in my area.

That's just awesome! What did you shoot it with? I'm jealous!

I'm not in any way opposed to huning as long as the animal is being used. I hate people who kill just for sport and pictures, especially hunting retreats with practically tame animals.
