She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

It is probably the best meat as far as flavor AND texture. Moose is closer in flavor to beef, but it's pretty grainy and a little tougher.

He doesn't sell them. Folks take baskets of eggs to him to incubate and he hatches them for the client and gives them back the chicks. I guess he's been doing it for years.

When my incubator is empty I will offer up the service on my classifieds and see if it flies. Then I can hatch and not have to brood the chicks.
That is pretty cool!!!!

We always stewed the moose meat. And made jerky out of bear meat! LoL!!

I'm not in any way opposed to huning as long as the animal is being used. I hate people who kill just for sport and pictures, especially hunting retreats with practically tame animals.
Yeah that would not be okay with me. Can't do those retreats. I would have to be out actually stalking the animals.

Has anyone else here found that thier chickens are fun and interesting to watch during the day but just dead boring after sundown?
OH yeah watched mine earlier today. Until a falcon came circling above so I had to catch them and put them all away.

chickens basically go comotose at night. So yeah boring. Ducks and geese on the other hand amusing 24 hours a day :p
I love shining the flashlight in and looking at them. They just stare and move their heads really slowly!!! Its funny.

So true! I can wake up in the middle of the night and look out on the ducks... They are just playing in the pool, or eating, or whatever ducks do. They don't seem to care that its dark.

That's just awesome! What did you shoot it with? I'm jealous!
300 Win Mag with a Bushnell XTR scope. I shot this bull across the canyon from 670 yards ranged.

We use everything we can and we process it ourselves. I want my family to understand what goes into harvesting animals and that the animal had a form of intelligence and that taking life is no small thing. I take kids every year and teach them how to respect the animals and have a good level of reverence for it.

I hate to say this in public, but I could watch them for hours. I've been sitting out on the lawn while the sun goes down and watching them while the sun goes down. They are funny creatures.

Cute!!!! I will have to tell my DH!!! LOL!!!!

Here is my Hubby with his Prize 17 year old Caribou. We have it hanging on our wall and its takes up half of it!!! LoL!

Its day 2 and I am still waiting for my Golden Feather to appear! Come on guys!

I think mine was pretty quick, like less than 24 hours... but they do get busy. You might give it another day or so, or maybe post on this thread. They seem pretty quick with answers here:
