She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

There is no way I am catching up on 160+ posts, so if I need to smack someone or missed something important let me know. Back from vacation. It was great. My sister took my four extra Spitzhauben roos and most likely will be taking my increasingly aggressive turken roo in a couple weeks and finding out how good turken tastes. (I heard it was one of the best for flavor and juices.) He's still young, not even a year yet. (8 months).
Glad you had a great time Are you planning on setting anymore eggs yet, I am getting a new incubator for my birthday and will be setting eggs soon

I went in to lockdown with 15 2 of which I was not to sure about. So the most would be 13. I have a zipper! Pieces of shell are flying everywhere!

I need to decide on one of my two SLW roos and my wife does not like the idea, but I don't need both of them and they both look delicious.

It's seriously bad. I keep walking up to the incubator and looking in as if there are eggs in there. Habit.

Amy I am with you. I also meddle with the eggs at hatching time. I don't necessarily remove them right away, but I have assisted in helping a couple of them get out. I had real good luck with that. Can you tell me what you keep your humidity temperatures at for the first 18 days and the last three. Usually on the last three for me, I have the humidity set at 65 or 70. I'm hatching some eggs right now and the humidity is set and itjumps back and forth between 36 and 42% does that sound all right or normal or what ? I think that's about what I usually have it at. I've been having a little bit of trouble and I'm just wondering if I'm not doing something right. Shouldn't may humidity be higher for the first 18 days? Can you give me some input? Thanks
I run between 30-35% during the first 17 days (but I monitor my air cells to know when and how t o adjust) and usually around 75% for lockdown/hatch. I run higher at hatch because I do open the bator a lot!

Because of this post (that isn't showing up) I did go back a few pages to see what was going on and see that we had a mod straightening things up...can someone pm me and let me know what was going on and why we were brought to the attention of the mods? What was the bickering about?

Thanks. I won't be setting again until next spring. (Unless someone else wants eggs incubated and are going to take the chics after hatch.

@AmyLynn2374

So, my 'bator setup is a bit risky come hatch time for wandering chooks:

I have a copper coil as a heat sink and to keep eggs from rolling off the ledge when the time comes but I am wondering: how soon is too soon to stick them in the brooder?

Should you wait until they are puffy or is it ok to relocate them immediately after they hatch during their post hatch nap?
My hatch before last I had a couple get hurt on my fan so after that I started taking them out as soon as they started really moving around in the bator and stretching. Last hatch, most of mine were in the brooder w/in 45 min. My brooder-under the light also averaged 100F. I never moved them unless they were active though. As long as they were sleeping/resting I kept them in, but most were active w/in an hour, not all, but most.

Got another pip! 3 pips and no zippers! Come on already.

After I hit the quote button, I saw that one has started zipping...yay!!! That's the best part!! Enjoy your show!!
