It's not me that as hatched the egg in my bra it's Demidog she has her own thread she now has it in a sling and is putting it with it's mommy when it's up and running around

Update on my bra egg!

The egg has hatched with the cutest little chick inside! Was totally worth it! It wasn't doing much last night but this morning it got back into action. It started off slowly but in the last 30 minuets zipped right round and popped out! I took it out my bra once it was fully zipped to give it room to push itself out. It hatched on a towel in my lap. I've made a sling with a scarf and am keeping it on me to keep it warm. I'm going to put it back with the mother in a few days, as soon as it's up on it's feet and able to keep up with the others. This has been a truly weird and amazing experience! And i would totally do it again if i needed to! The chick needed 2 more days of incubation when the mother hen decided she'd had enough. I have saved a life and i was so worth it. Little effort from me with the best possible result! Love it!

Hi RubyNala, I'll explain the whole thing of how i ended up with an egg hatching in my bra! lol

My broody left the nest with one egg still to go so i popped it in my bra to finish it off. I've heard people have done this before, but not tried it until now! I kept it for 2 more days. I figured out that a sports bra is better than under-wired because there is more room and keeping it in the middle instead of on one side helped protect it from getting squashed. I was able to sleep and turn from side to side without harming the egg. When i first took the egg i candled it to check it was still alive, which it was, and i saw that it wasn't yet in the air cell. That was first thing in the morning. Then later that evening it broke though into the air cell and by next morning (yesterday) it was tweeting. By 4pm last night it had pipped. I was expecting it to hatch during the night while i was asleep, and i was having really crazy dreams about multiple chicks hatching in my bra! lol By this morning not much had happened, but there was another pip beside the first one and a bit of shell had fell off exposing the intact membrane. It then made a bigger hole and broke the membrane and a wee feather was sticking out. It stayed like that for a few hours then in the last hour it got going again, in the last 30 minuets it went really quick and zipped right round. Once it was fully zipped i took it out my bra and had it on my lap on a towel and it hatched right there with my kids watching. This was by lunch time. I've now got it on me in a sling and it's tweeting away like crazy

It's been an amazing experience and I'd gladly do it again if i had to! And the chick is gorgeous, yellow with black and brown stripes down it's head and back and black eyeliner and spots on it's face. Just like it's siblings. I'm hoping now it's a girl!
