She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I love blue crabs, but I don't catch them in the little nets that you see people using on the piers. We will set two or three big pots in the river, then come back and get them the next day.
My favorite thing about SC is shrimping. SC is the only state that will let you set bait for them, and it's only from mid September-early November. You set a line of ten poles in the water, drop bait patties around those poles, then go back and throw a net over the bait. It's a ton of fun. You can fill a 48 quart cooler, the limit, in 2 hours or less on a good night

Ok, I have to start my flood now. I'm posting my oldest (with exception of my first roo) first. These guys will be 1 year in Novemeber with the exception of the three silkies that I took from my sister. (They are the ones with the ugly Godzilla feet. I'm assuming from being in the freezing winter. My silkie has pristine feet.)

I really like this one's markings. Very handsome!

Fresh caught shrimp are so much better than store bought, even "wild caught".
The texture is so much better, more firm and meaty. Kind of like the difference between a garden tomato in the summer and a store bought tomato in the winter
You got that right! I just toss them on the grill fresh from the water. As soon as they are just pink and firmed up, time to eat!

Another pic of Gibbs

My Austrolorp (I think) mix Raven. This is my sweetheart. (Yes the second eye pecker).

These two pics are my ee hen Puff

This one is the reason I pull my chicks out as soon as they are moving in the bator. If you notice the loose skin right above the eye. That's a slit in the "brow" from her stretching out in the incubator under the fan and the fan almost scalping her. I really thought she would loose sight in that eye, but she seems to see fine. I have two barred hens.

Close up of Raven....lol That's a deadly beak....

Sitting on my lap....

Another of the EE hen Puff

When I was a kid you could get fresh shrimp right off the boat in San Felipe, Baja. Of course that was when it still was a fishing village and before the Gulf of California got fished out. We'd camp on the beach and boil them in beer.
