Is there a chicken harder then a silkie to sex? I have 7, 8 wk old silkies and 6 of them look like boys! My odds can't be that bad, can they!

I hatched silkies once, but sold them all straight run. I never even tried to sex them.

Your birds are looking really nice. I like the black/white less-feather-footed one, too, the Colombian looking one and the silver. Wonder what color eggs you'll get? Glad you caught one little escapee and I hope the other gets caught soon.

It's not tailless, but the adult tail feathers are slow coming in. They are EE and all hatched from blue or green eggs.

I'm waiting to see how these 30 or so turn out, but that was his ratio last year. Silkie roosters are good if you like dark meat

I agree with Snowbirds technique. A little poop will not hurt them.

And another funny note....my phone is super "dirty".........as in innuendo dirty......while I was talking to my sisters mentally handicapped friend. Its a good thing I caught it before it made me look like a pervert! Of all things.

And I caught a cat in my live trap to take to animal control today since no one claimed him on the neighborhood email. The Crazy Lady down the street had the audacity to email me the ordinances of the county saying that my "chicken dinners need to put in a live trap to experience how terrible it feels".....well let me tell you what I emailed her back. I told her that I am licensed by the state of GA to sell poultry and my birds are healthy and I know my rights to be a backyard chicken owner. I also told her that he sprays my house and it smells like ammonia, and he chases my cats away to eat their food...and I asked her what she would rather have me do....shoot it? or catch it and take to alive to animal control....then I said how dare she threaten me and my chickens..and if she has a problem come to talk to me face to face. Lets just say that shut her up quick. She said I was right and never mind and to have a good weekend.

Talk about wanting to B***H slap an old lady in the face mood she got me into.....I had to pray. PRAY HARD!!!!!
