Just shoot cats with a 25-06. They don't run as far, and the noise lets the neighbors know you mean businessI agree with Snowbirds technique. A little poop will not hurt them.
And another funny note....my phone is super "dirty".........as in innuendo dirty......while I was talking to my sisters mentally handicapped friend. Its a good thing I caught it before it made me look like a pervert! Of all things.![]()
And I caught a cat in my live trap to take to animal control today since no one claimed him on the neighborhood email. The Crazy Lady down the street had the audacity to email me the ordinances of the county saying that my "chicken dinners need to put in a live trap to experience how terrible it feels".....well let me tell you what I emailed her back. I told her that I am licensed by the state of GA to sell poultry and my birds are healthy and I know my rights to be a backyard chicken owner. I also told her that he sprays my house and it smells like ammonia, and he chases my cats away to eat their food...and I asked her what she would rather have me do....shoot it? or catch it and take to alive to animal control....then I said how dare she threaten me and my chickens..and if she has a problem come to talk to me face to face. Lets just say that shut her up quick. She said I was right and never mind and to have a good weekend.![]()
Talk about wanting to B***H slap an old lady in the face mood she got me into.....I had to pray. PRAY HARD!!!!!
Rant over...thanks for letting me share.![]()
Well thats the thing...I dont want to kill animals so I have a "have a heart" trap large enough to catch raccoons....unfortunately it was the stray cat that sleeps in my kids playhouse out back....I dont know what kind of diseases it carries...and I dont want it around my pets and kids.Just shoot cats with a 25-06. I brood on paper towels in the house for the first 5 days or so, then move them to the outdoor brooder on shavings. In the summer, I heat with a plate heater, and in the fall and winter I use a lamp outside. I don't measure temps, I just watch the behavior of the chicksForgot to say that I also use the GQF thermostat controlled heaters in all of my brooders and lower them 5 degree a week.
I love hav-a-heart traps. So much easier to finish the job up closeWell thats the thing...I dont want to kill animals so I have a "have a heart" trap large enough to catch raccoons....unfortunately it was the stray cat that sleeps in my kids playhouse out back....I dont know what kind of diseases it carries...and I dont want it around my pets and kids.
I start off on shavings...until they feather out then I put them on the ground. So my 5 weekers I need to move into the rooster pen...LoL!!! It's a coon... just found tracks... **** thing fell in the rat trap bucket eating the peanut butter and left prints from the oil...
It never hit at the same times... sometimes at night, sometimes late morning after it was light out... don't have cams... and knew it wasn't a feathered prey animal as it pulls the birds out through an enclosed cage...
