She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

you could raise pink flamingos the plastic kind there quiet and don't eat any thing.
:lau
We were talking the other day, we'd have to re-till that whole section of the yard, or re-sod it. The ducks area looks like moonscape! They dig holes when it rains! (but the tat is looking better every day... The easiest one to take care of!)
Yes! SOOO messy! Mine don't get locked up at night anymore because they made such a huge mess in their pen!
Hahahhahahaha! At least you would have pretty lawn decor......:lau
I dunno about pretty...:gig
So that's where the plastic Easter eggs come from!!!! :lau

They must be great layers for the world to have so many plastic eggs. Maybe I should look into getting some!

So after my last try at incubation was thwarted by a faulty thermoswitch (I went downstairs to work one morning only to find that they had been at ~60*c for who knows how long) I kind of ran away from BYC for a while. In July sometime one of my students gave me two fertile eggs they had gotten from somewhere. Real specific, I know.

Anyways, I have been firmly team red. After sourcing a heating pad and some stuffing, I made a nest type incubator with an extra thermoswitch. I turn the eggs a little bit two to three times a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. That's it. I candled on day 14 (maybeish?) to find one live and one dead. Today I candled and confirmed so I cracked the dead one just for a look (hoooo boy did it stink).

Problem is, I have been so firmly team red, I forgot the set date... Any hints for guesstimating that hatch date? I am thinking it is sometime this week is as I am pretty sure I got those eggs next to last week of July...

Also, allergic to cats yet fostering a rescue kitten while it waits for a forever home. Did I mention I am NOT a cat person? And that my appt is probably no pets allowed? I sm a sucker for beings in need.

Hi again!! :)

Sorry your classroom hatch didn't work out... I was hoping it would... :/

Check the air cell and when it dips further down on one side, then it's close to hatch... or don't worry until it pips and then up your humidity... as long as you know it's soon and keep an eye on it, you should be fine...

I hatched silkies once, but sold them all straight run.  I never even tried to sex them.
I have some right now that are 10 weeks old, still advertised straight run. I have good guesses on some, but I've had to replace "pullets" I've sold before, so I don't sell them until I'm certain now

So that's where the plastic Easter eggs come from!!!!
