Usually my double yolkers are more oblong. These are just massive eggs. I think the older hens I bought are much better bred than my straight run chicksWow, I agree too!So next time, we set parade values for all 3 numbers!

But I think including that in the total numbers would make us focus more on why certain eggs don't develop. If the incentive of a parade is enough to make us tweak our incubation practices, then everyone benefits in the long run. Amy has been the only one to meet a high standard so far (as much as it pains me to say that), so it actually is something that makes me want to have a better hatch. If I don't pull it off this time, I'm *gasp* buying a scale...
This set I never weighed, never marked air cells, never candled until lockdown. Even at an experimental humidity. I left 10 or 11 chicks in the incubator, with no idea what would happen for the next 12 hours...

Breakfast. Loretta gave us 2 double yolks the past 2 days and I was thinking they were just normal sized eggs, already.
Babies moved to brooder 5 his morning. Another heating pad had just arrived from amazon so going to make another mhp. They are temporarily under a red light but I have it plugged into a thermostat so it isn't on continuously.
