Omg, I've been fiddling with this dang thing all day and I finally got the temp right but the humidity is stuck at 30% and won't budge. I've got all the channels full plus 3 sponges. Someone help!!! I don't know if my hygrometer has gone whacko or if something else is wrong. It's got a good seal between the top and bottom, well as good as a LG styrobator can have. I really don't have time to have this problem, my eggs will be here tomorrow!! Any advice? What should I do?

It's already been said. Take all the water out and get a new hygrometer that you can calibrate.

No, that's the problem. I'll have to go to good ole Walmart tomorrow morning and get another thermometer/hygrometer for a temporary fix and hope everything works out ok. There aren't any pet stores within a 70 mile radius so I'll have to see what Wally World has. In the process I'll order a good 1 online. Any suggestions what brand to get?

I use this one. It's only a couple bucks and easy to calibrate. I've bought a couple sometimes they are accurate, sometimes off by a little over 5%.

Zip ties - I found about 11 different colors at Rural King, bought them all. Planned with my LOs to use a different color on each one, so as i took pics I could tell them apart. I stopped the first time they needed changed, but I wish I hadn't. I will do it with my sebrights for sure. Those LOs look too dang much alike.
Two of my GCs are sporting zip ties, the first 2 I ever got. One on the left leg, one on the right leg. Tara, left leg (4 letters) laid my first egg. Wendy, right leg (5 letters lol)
Names will go with the colors too

30% is good for start. When you get to lock down, you should be able to manage your 65% with sponges. I agree Hygrometer is probably off. Also, be prepared for your temp to dip when you put eggs in. Leave it be. It will come back up.

Look for one for terrariums/reptiles. Do the salt test.

I think this one went haywire the last day of our hatch. I'm trying the salt method to see. Will update in the morning.

I have that one, and don't always trust it. I follow up with 2 or 3 others: Mercury bulb, indoor/outdoor easy to read bulb, and a digital oral medical. I also move them around in the bator every day. OCD? Perhaps, but I have good hatches.
