She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ok rather than go back and try and quote everyone that asked about my hatch I'll just answer the questions I saw.

All 13 eggs are from the 3 hens that were laying when she started sitting, not necessarily her own.

I have also had 1 more die, so it's actually the first 2 and the last 2 to hatch that died. The first 2 I'm also fairly sure came from the pullet that had only laid 2 other eggs before the set, as the didn't have the 4th toe.
The last 2 out where 24 and 48 hours after most of the eggs had hatched, so that there was too much older competition for them.

What will be really interesting will be what results I get from the 7 eggs under the other pullet. The eggs she's got are all ones that I took out from the first broody with less development in them.

They were laid over a 5 day period then incubated for somewhere between 3 and 7 days, then left sit with someone sitting and hour or so a day for a week then incubated.

:D even turning by hand now, i still love that thing... We have Bourbon Red turkeys, and theyre awesome!
I'd give my eye teeth for some turkey eggs. Hubby would kill me. But, it'd be worth it!!!
Totally worth it, i am Not asking your eye teeth, only a trade :D the turkeys are So awesome! I Love how personable they are Idk if i ever shared this, but here they are laying at my feet

I finally set eggs again last night. 19 possible OE. From my Marans roo x EE/Leghorn mix. They have pea combs so I'm hoping the chicks have the olive egg (blue) gene. I added a fan to my bator so we will have to see how that goes. Can't wait for my Brinsea Spot Check to get here.

ETA: Since the mama is half leghorn the chicks could get the white egg gene right? All the eggs in the bator are light blue.

I've always heard that domestic turkeys will stand in a downpour with their heads pointed to the sky til they drown. Myth?
