I may need someone to tell me what they think about some turkey eggs I'm incubating.
I seem to think only 2 out of 12(9 now) are good.

WalnutHill is the one to ask about turkey eggs... sorry, I've never done those... :idunno

K, you dont think letting them sit will mess anything up? Sorry to question you, lol, just worried. I didn't notice the jiggling cells when I 1st got them cause they were so small and I was trying not to move the eggs much since everyone said to handle as little as possible. I didn't know I should tilt them a little. I'm so new to all of this, lol.

Thank you everyone!!! Too many to quote!! Great support!! I appreciate it, truly!!

Playing with dolls... :lau

K, I have a ?: I went in my bator to put a sponge in and thought I'd candle while I was in there. I'm assuming the air cell should not move when I tilt the egg? Also when I shine the light from top to bottom it casts a shadow from about the middle of the egg down and up when I shine it from the bottom. I'm terrible at candling and have no idea what I'm looking for other than veins which I didn't see. It's only day 5 though. Should I be worried?

The movement in the air cell is damage from shipping. Did you start turning right away? I only candle into the air cell because that's the only way I can see anything (I've tried looking through the bottom or sideways but it really works when you do it that way). It takes a little bit to get comfortable with what you're looking at...but you'll be a candling addict soon enough! I never did brown eggs. With white eggs, yes you can see veins day 5.

Here's what it looks like. He bought it from a guy that had bought it to use with a pellet stove, but he never installed it. Gave him $20 for it, said they were like $50ish, so that's a bit much for a coop, but I'm ok with $20 haha. Its like 8" round. Maybe they come in different sizes. But I think it might just work.

You're doing fine... we were all new at one time too... it really is a learn as you go type of thing... my opinion is to just let them sit for 2 days without tilting, but no more than 2 days at this point... then start tilting them again after checking air cells again... :)
