She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Hatch update:

3 eggs in the Polyhatch look like they didn't make it through the power outage when I was out of town last week. I'll leave them in another day or two but there are no signs of life. These were my project babies and I was really looking forward to a hatch.

In the Eco 20, one external pip, one that didn't make it through the power outage, and one that I can't be sure but it's farther along than the ones that died a week ago.

Fertility on my eggs was much lower in July and August, even for table eggs. Seems the roos and toms just aren't as into the dating scene when it's warm.

Once this hatch is done, I'll sanitize everything and put it away until spring.

Sorry about your project eggs. What a bummer.

#7 just hatched.

Here are a few of ours, you can see the roo is totally dif than the hens ;)

@mattie2011 you can tell easily male from female..... even as they grow.... note lighter color roo feathering on the older ones? It may depend on Quality of birds too... And there is also a gene that some CCL carry, see below the light chick was a male sport CCL

Congrats!!

Meet Liesel and Ricky.

Love them and how did you come up with Liesel name? is it german?

Boadicea is betrothed. Met a lovely lady today @CaseyV who gave me this cute little fellow.

This calls for a wedding!

@Sally Sunshine I have a few of those too! They keep hiding their eggs on me! Our RIR laid 22 (plus 4 that disappeared between finding & collecting then 1 broken) off in the woods. Then last night found another 15 hiding in the garden. Still have not found where our 2 EE are hiding theirs, been well over a week since I have found a pink or a green egg.
