My ex-husband LOVES Vista-print! He's been using it for years. I still find piles of stuff he had printed up. You really are the "N" word, huh?

I love soup. Cream of mushroom is one of my favs! I had cream of wild mushroom soup at a fancy restaurant when I was young and I'll never forget how delicious it was.
I used the moisture control stuff from the dollar store. I put a small cup in the incubator and it worked amazing, for me. That was actually my best hatch. I'd empty the cup and put fresh stuff in every 24 hours. (I couldn't get under 60%-dry, so I needed to dry out the air cells for a few days and it worked)! But I think your humidity is perfect! I wouldn't worry about going any lower. I'm actually running higher this batch...45%.

Haha. I built a new laying box and moved her into an adjacent run at night, like was recommended to me, and she sat and paced for two days. From what I understand, moving them can be hit or miss. 

My wife laughed at me when I came out with my leather welding gloves to move her. But dang it, my memories of being bit by my grandma's broody hens are recent enough I was taking the wimps way out. 

I just do it. Who cares if she tries to flog me. Lol!!! whimp!

I think as it gets closer, it would be fun to so some simultaneous shipping and hatching so we can compare results and cheer each other on - or prop each other up.

Whoever is gonna do the list, start it now... just mark down all the usernames of the regulars now and then it can be added to as needed... people will start coming out of the woodwork fast once word gets out and unfortunately there will be many with hands out and negative attitudes as well...

When it gets close, someone on a comp can run a multi-PM with the ones wanting to participate to coordinate the details...

Just an idea, anyways... this thread does get quite a bit of attention and newbies popping in...

What is everyone considering spring? I have been saying spring, because in my mind the chicks that hatch in the winter are for sale in the spring. My plan this year is to start hatching in late December. My biggest sales were March through Easter, but it really doesn't matter to me if people want to start later. If I have eggs in the incubator, that just means that more are available

I'm considering spring to be whenever the weather is good for shipping between Point A and Point B. Don't want anyone to get eggsicles.

Broody question for ya'll.

I tried to break that girl with cool water a few times and she was not having it. I decided to put her to work. We have 4 nest boxes and they all get used. I'm curious if she will go back to the same nest after she takes her daily break or if she will just sit in any box with eggs in it? My boys are gone to school and there are always 15-18 eggs in the other boxes.

You don't have a broody breaker? A nice sized open wired cage works perfect. Broke a gal this summer.

Man, I've gotten eggsicles before! Frozen pretty good. But most of the time, even during the middle of winter here, I've had eggs shipped in a pretty decent manner, and have gotten great results.

Sounds like a good plan... just figured it might cut down on the thread getting bombarded with requests... I'm willing to do some ships, but only so much I can handle, and know that others will have same issue...
