She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I may not have anything to hatch with you next week! Another one, that was perfectly alive and kicking around last night, has now quit! I hate this batch of eggs! Down to 3/18 and my temps and humidity have been spot on. So I know it had to be the shipping!

could be the eggs Ruby sometimes they just quit . so many thing effect hatching . everything can be perfect and they still don't hatch, bigger incubators constant hatching assures hatchlings but shipping eggs that didn't hatch has been one of my biggest loses . when you can hatch your own eggs it will not hurt so much. all we can do is keep working towards our goal walking and looking forward always .find a baby sitter and go pickup your next eggs. take shipping out of the equation .

Very nice! I'd say not Rees lines... if you're gonna do swapping for the shipathon, I'd love some of yours... very good earlobe color, and that's what mine need help with... you want any of mine? they're a great light blue egg color...
Yup! Ya know, while the cat is away... :D ;)
Me too, lol... :thumbsup

GURL!!!! I am so down to do a swap with you!!!! Lol!! You are super knowledgeable and I love it.

now I curious has there been more than one person who imported cream legbars?

Sweet deal!! Haven't seen any candling pics lately, lol... :D ;)
I don't think so... Widget Creek does import some breeds, but I don't believe Cream Legbars is one... my Sulmtalers are WC & GFF for instance...

But GFF imported 4 different lines of Cream Legbars, A, B, C and Jill Rees lines... they've dropped all the earlier lines and now only sell Rees lines... I'm not a fan of those, so mine are a mix of the other 3 older lines...

Oh, and nope, wasn't born Southern, bless your heart... had several say the same thing, lol... :D

Good to know!!!

If anyone needs a ship a thin it's me!!! I haven't seen those days in 8 years at least!!! lol Sorry, I had too....

Hahahahahah $!! I did not catch that the first time. Lol!!! :lau

K ya'll, I'm hitting the hay, I'm pooped. Nitey nite, don't let the fowl mites bite ;) see you guys tomorrow :)

g'night all, see you in the morning!

good thing I ain't eating mushrooms. they aren't talking about the ones from a Florida cow field. but that thing makes me dizzy

lol People and their cow feilds. A bunch of 'kids" get sick every year from Chlorophyllum Molybdites, a mushroom that looks close enough to P. Cubensis to fool 'em. It also looks like the choice edibles, Lepiota rhacodes and Coprinus comatus, but it has green spores. It won't kill you, but I've heard it'll make you wish you were dead for a while. lol

Oh, BTW, I found a website as addictive as Amazon. Vistaprint. I need to get business cards because I'm getting a lot of referral customers now, so I made one up on Vistaprint last night. Once you get your card customized, before you go to checkout they plaster your image on a ton of other stuff that you can buy. T-shirts, hats, yard signs, car signs, calendars, etc...

We just ordered some cards, magnets(for the car) and signs from Vista last month. Really great site.

We are raising CXR right now and we have them in a free range situation. There is some limping, but no real leg or heart issues so far. This weekend is harvest time.

You can always sell them as dark egg layers right?

If we can free range the meaties, then that might change things a bit. How bad is the mess and how much land do they have to roam?
So that's where you were when Ruby left a window wide open for you! Snooze & lose.

Haha write it down, he missed a window.

212 posts unread still! lol Snoozing sounds good right now. Night, Megan. Night, guys!

I know you told me earlier that you thought 1 had quit but them he stuck his feet in your face, lol. Was it the same egg? It had to be the shipping. My humidity has fluctuated sooo much during this batch and my temp always goes up and down by about a half a degree, sometimes more and I have no clue what I'm doing so it had to be the shipping for yours. I'm sure your next batch will be stellar. My fingers are still crossed for those remaining 3 though.

even the best incubator needs to be in a controlled environment i e AC the humidity where you live is worse than here. so you can expect it to have big swings your weighing so you got a grip on things you might be new but you know what your doing.

Sahweeettt!!! :bun

:D and thanks, I just do tons of research, lol...

Broody question for ya'll.

I tried to break that girl with cool water a few times and she was not having it. I decided to put her to work. We have 4 nest boxes and they all get used. I'm curious if she will go back to the same nest after she takes her daily break or if she will just sit in any box with eggs in it? My boys are gone to school and there are always 15-18 eggs in the other boxes.

both my Broodies consistently returned to the nest I last palced them in.

Finally putting the incubator away and returning the "chick room" back into a "guest room." We're going to have a houseful for the Balloon Fiesta so I'd better start getting ready, although I hate cleaning and would rather surf the internet.

Promised DH all the chicken stuff would be out in my half of the coop by the time he gets back.

Oh my goodness..this is exactly what I have done. We have a spare .. guest room up here on the main floor. I use it while hatching. I have to say, I am glad when I'm done hatching for a while so I can do a good cleaning in there, and make it cutsie again.

LOL he ment a broody break box. He was saying earlier he hasa broody...

I think thats why we Need the ship-a-thin, so we can learn as much as possible (for hobbiests) about it!

Yep, It took me a min..he was responding to my question about whether or not he had a broody breaker..I told him I did, and that it worked great this summer for one of my hens. :p
