Sorry to quote you twice, I forgot to add: Yes, I'm seeing LOTS of movement in most of them, they are very active for the most part. 1 wasn't moving a whole lot earlier but I've noticed they move lots at some times and very little at others.

I'm just assuming that the eggs will be much lighter than a sky blue. I've seen pics online that must be doctored. Do eggs really get that blue? Maybe early in the laying cycle. I think culling for egg color will be harder than type, but I could be wrong

if you want to fry my two and a half year old broody, have at it. I would guess you could find boot leather that would be more tender.

I spect you run it through sidewings wizbang long enough it'll get tender. don't know for sure though . couldn't be much worse than what you can buy at the store . my wife comes out where I'm working. and says about the rooster with the hurt leg .you know if your momma was alive that chicken would already be on the stove cooking. chicken and dumplings .

I think the problem was I was trying to cover the light overflow and trying to hold the egg at the same time with 1 hand and take a pic with the other so I covered alot of the top of the egg which made the cell look smaller. Some are still kind of small though.

Definitely better than the other images LOL! your good, carry on up humidity

My Legbars are anything but flighty. The hens are the sweetest hens in my coop, both towards me and their coop mates. Both roosters I had were NASTY mean. But, they tasted good in chicken salad sandwiches. But, don't get Cream Legbars thinking you will get blue eggs. Mine lay green eggs, well one lays a slightly bluish egg. They are great layers, 6 eggs a week, right through their first winter.

These were wrapped in TP and put in a styrofoam egg carton and then had balled up paper in the box around the carton.

I've had eggs shipped to me in cartons that did well and some not so well... personally, I don't like balled up paper as a packing insulator... leaves too much air space for the carton to shift around in...

Some pics are doctored, some is just lighting... I don't believe any pic can really show accurate egg color... I have 2 pics I'll post later to show you... eggs can get a good, pretty blue, but a true Robin's Egg blue is beyond expectations in my opinion... if there's a greenish tint, the blue comes out better as the laying cycle goes on...
Too much emphasis is put on egg color... type is way more important and egg color is last to worry about... my favorite saying is 'You gotta build the barn before you paint it'... blue eggs are doable, but depending on stock and introducing new blood, etc, can take generations to perfect...

I recently heard a discussion on the meaning of 'flighty'... it was said that means extremely nervous and easily spooked... so no, mine aren't flighty... at least they're not like quail, lol...
They aren't super friendly, snuggly chickens but they are fine with you walking into the pen, etc... they jump if startled, but not spastic... roo is calm and respectful too... I think a lot is in how they're raised...
OH gave me the green light for turkeys, so yep...

Mostly I have to stick to our current breeds though, as we cannot add any more different ones... we're working on expanding for our current stock for separate lines, etc...

Ok, I'll give you some more research to do then... look up the 24hr auction chat thread, read the entire thing... a lot of people put comments on there about sellers rather than giving the person a review on their profile... there are good and bad on bith BYC and ebay... some BYCers sell on ebay also... look at pics and read everything they say... if it includes faults and sounds honest those are good indicators... if it sounds too good to be true, then that's generally the case...

For the cost, I'd say skip it... those are knly as good as they are utilized... if packed right, they are great... if not, they are just as horrible as tossing eggs in an empty box... bubble wrap and shavings is much cheaper and works great as long as the eggs are secure but not smooshed...

Oz used to send them to people mailing him eggs, but like I said, I think some didn't pack them right... I sent Oz 30 eggs from TN to CA in bubble wrap and shavings... all 30 eggs made it to the Philes in great condition and he made no complaints... and those weren't even packed as well as I prefer cuz we had to emergency overnight them when his flight changed, lol...
You're correct... I received an entire box of scrambled and broken eggs shipped in that foam recently... whole batch was a bust...

I wasn't gonna quote your multi-quote, lol... yes, it is like free advertising and I have no issues sending out a couple boxes free... but if I send 5 or 6 or so, shipping costs add up... don't know if I'll be able to afford that so I may offer some extra batches for ship cost, if you think that'd be ok???

My Legbars laid a nice pale blue egg. Not very saturated, but a true blue. Mine weren't exactly flighty, were fine with me, but very b*tc#y to the other chickens.
