She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

There's a lot to be said for sitting on the back porch with a cup of coffee, a multi-tined pitchfork, and no fear of loud noises

I like the way this man thinks!

So I have an egg half way through day 20 and I can not figure out what position he is in but it's not normal. Has anyone seen anything like this? I don't think he will pip. There are two spaces under the air cell. I took two photos and a short video to see his movement. Any idea what position this guy is in?

Trust me, you would have smell the potential bomb!! Those stinkers are unmistakable!! :sick
I probably wouldn't have meant to kill him either... but... yeah... :gig

Yep, would really like to swap those breeds with you... and sounds like you might need to grow out a new boy...

I found that the roos most likely to turn aggressive are the ones handled the most when young... I only handle my chicks for first few days, then when they start getting skittish I leave them alone except feeding and watering... once they feather out and discover the 'big bad world' I become their best friend again... but I don't pick up and handle them unless needed... when the pullets get close to lay they settle down and are social and the boys follow their lead... only had aggression a couple times in our flocks, 1 got rehomed since he attacked my broody and the other 2 were Silkies and those were simple to correct...

Well I might have to give that a try. So far the other cockerels I sold were all hand raised and super sweet. But Gump is our first full size rooster that we have hand raised. Maybe I should grow out a couple of more just to be safe. Lol!!! And try your method.

So you ladies need to teach me how to handle my big Brahma rooster. He's intimidating! Last weekend, he took a step toward me, like he was gonna come at me, but stopped. He's got huge spurs, and I look down at my bare legs and think oh no! But he backed off. Later in the run, while filling feeders, he pecked my leg, so I backed him into the corner. He took off under the coop. Yesterday he stepped toward me again, just kinda felt threatening, but I don't really know what he's doing. He just stared at me!
I think he's just protecting the girls, but he scares me a little too. I've seen what he does to the other rooster! I know I have to stand my ground if he gets defensive with me, but I'm not even really sure what he is doing, because he has never been that way.
The only times I've ever touched this bird were when I had to move him in the dark. He's not hand friendly, but has never been viscous either. He's a great flock protector.

I say keep doing what your doing by showing him you are the boss. Back him in a corner and if he jumps at you smack in the face with the side blade of a machete.....:lau :lau :lau

He's peeping inside the egg!!!! :weee
I can't believe he managed to internally pip! Thank goodness!!! This means if I had too, I could probably save him, now that he's internally pipped! I had to add water, so I peeked in and I was looking at a shadow that was moving a lot and I tapped on the egg and it started peeping like crazy!!! So I'll just let him be now and hope for an external pip by tonight! I've never heard an egg peep before! :fl
