She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

I do a nightly candle. Granted the smallest hatch I have done so far was the last hatch where I only set 21, and that was my hatch that I set 6 aside to candle every single night to see if there was any negative effect on the eggs. (All 6 developed and hatched healthy as well as 15/16 of the hands offs.) But, I usually check 4 or 5 DIFFERENT eggs each night just to fullfill my addiction and check the air cells. This whole broody affair has really made my hands itch cause I want to see the every night. She's only got three and they are on day 16. I managed to get a good look at them tonight when I candled and they are looking great. Nice movement and growth. Just hoping they hatch alright next week and don't die of cold after.
Momma don't give you a fit when you take her eggs away to candle them? Mine would try to draw blood if I weren't wearing a glove.

My little Jap banty that has been brooding for over 2 weeks is a push over. She'll growl a bit and gripe, but that's about all. She's not happy about being moved, but she deals with it. Now my Spitzhauben has been sitting on 5 eggs since yesterday and OMG! If you just look at her she screams bloody murder. During the day if the other chickens come into the coop and get in her line of site....you think she's being attacked. If you reach out to her she'll try to peck you. She's not a nice broody....lol But my Jap banty- I can sit there and pet her and talk to her and she's all good.....lol

You get all your feathered friends all tucked in out of harm's way for the night?
The wind has died way down here so I think they'll be ok for the night. I'm still thinking about putting them in the garage this weekend though since this storm isn't even anywhere near us yet and I have a feeling this is just the beginning even though it is heading northeast. :fl that this thing doesn't effect us to badly.

I believe I read the other day that it's pretty rare for a hurricane to travel southward.

She's doing good. Little worried about after the hatch, cause so far she's not one to hold her ground. The other's will literally push her out of the way to lay their eggs and she lets them. Good thing is even though she wouldn't sit on the eggs in the kennel, once Prissy decided she was broody and pushed her off the nest she deicided she would use the cage I had placed in there, so took the eggs out from under Prissy so she could have the ones she'd been laying on and gave Prissy 5 new ones and each one has stayed in their own space. So if everything goes alright we should hopefully see 3 little ones by about Wednesday. ( I can and probably will close the cage door once there's sign of hatchers.) If Prissy stays broody and she sure acts like she plans to, hers would be due around the 22nd and if any more go broody I'm going to try my darndest to break them from here out. Not worried about her (Prissy) hatching chicks in the coop cause she'll bite off anyones head that messes with her I think....lol
