She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Very interesting! I've never hand-turned. (but I couldn't help thinking of Blobby when I saw that pic)
The first time I hand turned I freaked out! I thought for sure I lost all my eggs....lol It took me all afternoon to calm down and recandle and put things in persepective, then I could see what was going on. After that I was enthralled with the differences and I had a better understanding of why we turn and how the embryo would stick to the side.

The bigger problem with not turning is that the blood vessels will knot up and sometimes cut off the blood flow to the embryo. That will cause death at about day 6.

The next big problem is not developing correctly and wet sticky chicks at hatch.

So I am supposed to remove the turner tonight. I haven't seen movement this week. But I did notice this..

is this an internal pip? It looks like the shell has darkened... any thoughts?

Something doesn't look quite right to me, but could just be the pic... tap on the shell, if it's internally pipped it will peep at you... or peep at it, that works too...
Ok, so I think I got some fairly decent pics of the littles. It's so cute watching them go in and out from under mommy. They even started eating this morning and drinking.
Adorable!! Love the look from the one in the 2nd pic, lol... and isn't that flock raiser great? :D ;)

That does not look right to me. The whole egg should almost be black because of the chick. That extra fluid with no veining means it probably quit on you some time ago. I am not sure what the black thing above the air cell could be....maybe a foot???
