She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Can't remember all who commented or asked about Lady Grey's egg and colored duck eggs, so here's to who wanted to know or didn't know... yes, that was a duck egg and they do lay different colors... I have heard, but haven't found a tan/brown egg laying duck, but here are some examples...
Cayugas lay a grey to black egg, btw... and that's also where the myth about Ayam Cemanis laying black eggs came from...

that there is the biggest jelly bean I every did see .

This is true . you do all you can for a good hatch. but some things are just out of your control . most incubator O.M. say to clean and sanitize the eggs while almost everyone says not to . really dirty eggs just should not be set. I know that most of you spot wash . I do that and have used the Manna Pro egg cleaner on shipped eggs .this hatch not only have I run dry I'm also not spiking the humidity . should have done it before . after Ravyn told me what she does. I'm holding the humidity at 50 to 55% I need to count eggs but 19 made it to lock down 11 have hatched 6 more are piped 2 are DIS.

Yes!! :celebrate

Much better numbers on your lockdown eggs... :D

Go ahead... they're delicious... :gig

Thanks for dropping the coop off today... Jim got the floor supports rebuilt and it is all set up now... hosed it out and got most of the crud out, but looks like I gotta slap a piece of plywood down for the floor in the outer part... patchwork wire floor is shoddy as all h*ll...

Awesome numbers so far, hope all your pippers hatch!

thank you I'm going out to set more soon and check on them before bed time . humidity here has gone from being real high to real low. I think that has helped . strange looking at 27% on the hygrometer . this are more of my eggs . GLWs and GLW crosses .

I was going to ask if you got it fixed after I got home I cut hay till dark . so now I'm half way with cutting . the big red tail was back this afternoon ,so glad my pens are covered. BTW I need to set the eggs .can't believe you're getting so many clears .I'm going to count eggs right now I 'll let you know how many are still growing before I turn in . off for a little bit . It's chilly out there .so I shouldn't be long .

@WalnutHill
 ,
I believe it was you who posted a pic last week of a rooster that you'd considered keeping, but finally invited him to dinner. I went back trying to find that pic, but couldn't. Don't know what breed he was, but he was lit up like a Christmas tree; possibly the prettiest rooster I've ever seen!

He was a beauty. I still have his parents, so if I hatch another like him I'll keep him. I only want two roosters and didn't want to give up either of the senior boys.

Eh, only have clears now cuz of the molt... can't be comfortable for the girls to have a guy jump on their blood/pin feathers... saw a hen squat and submit and as soon as he hopped on she screeched and ran full speed out from under him, lol... must be like slapping a sunburn... :gig

Gotta get my pens covered, Jim said a hawk swooped into the Am pen today... but it almost decapitated itself going through some wood squares the juvies hang out in, lol...

Was great to meet Ben today too... maybe one day he'll wave to me... :)

@AmyPaperlady I have a Self Blue OEGB broody hen who is worse than Frieda about kicking the kids to the curb after they turn 18...

There are 6 juvies in all this... 3 stacked up directly underneath her... :th
