Confirmed movement in all 8 duck eggs! And movement in at least 3 of the chicken eggs too! Its hard for me to tell because the shells are so dark compaired to my duck eggs that are white.

I am debating between building a run or using a chain link dog fence and reinforcing it.
Kennel panels work great on level ground; pain in the butt on slopesI am debating between building a run or using a chain link dog fence and reinforcing it.

He's 76 and his health and strength are starting to decline. We go fishing every time I go down, but usually from a pier or from a rented boat in the Laguna Madre. This time we are going after tuna and dorado, with a good chance of shark, amberjack or kingfish. Unless the cool water pushes in, then we will be going after snapper and grouper.
I'd like to try. But I'm really not going for trophy class, I want table fare and good fun.
Awesome. Good time to go.Mid December. Gonna hit the blue water with my dad. I want to be sure to do so before it's too late.

x2 They swoop in from out of nowhere and then you have all that hay to clean up. . . if you're lucky.Chain link fencing is actually superior in strength... but I'd go with the taller kind of it so you can put netting over it... winged predators are atrocious...
For those that missed it on the "other" thread while this one was down, I found a dead chick in the coop this morning when I went to gather eggs. No signs of predator, no blood, no bugs, no trauma, just dead. I believe eggbound, but I'm still researching on that.
Today was hubby's birthday, so we decided to take a trail ride on the side by side, was gone for a few hours. Got back, did a head count and a chick is missing. Looked all over for her, no sign of her or anything anywhere! It was Floppy, his favorite chick. Waited till dark, she never came back.![]()
I'm so bummed. She was the sweetest chick of all. Thinking haybale or fox maybe got her.
Hugs and crossed fingers that they figure it out fast. Food allergy? Halloween goody overload?
I am so jealous! I want to take an ocean fishing charter some day. Heck even one in Superior or Michigan.
I opted for welded wire over the top rather than netting. For one, I already had the wire; for two, netting won't stop a coon. The wire also provides a base if you want to use a tarp for shade & weather protection.
