It's ok, really... we didn't expect the girls to start laying til Spring anyways... will get lots of ducklings then... and Lady Grey's eggs are developing!! Dunno if they'll hatch due to size, but we're trying...

Oh, no!! No omelettes with these eggs! The girls have almost stopped and they'll start up again in Spring and we'll be hatching them all...

O.K., I'm confused. The few eggs you're getting aren't fertile. The few you get from now til Spring likely won't be, either. So what do you do with infertile eggs besides eat 'em?

They stop laying completely over winter... they won't start up again til Spring, so no eggs until then anyways... and the boys will be 'active' again then... Calls are seasonal layers/breeders...

Now I understand. Not at all familiar with ducks. Didn't know they locked up the factory.

Calls are different than regular full sized ducks, they're a bantam duck so more sensitive to seasons... most regular ducks do lay during winter, just slow down like chickens do...

That sounds wonderful!!!! I can't wait either!!! Walnut and Ravyn.....seriously a lot better than I ever thought possible. I almost want to try it in a root beer float.
