The post office saga continues. I got the phone number for the facility where the chicks appear to be 'stuck' or at least were last documented and gave them a call. Went to voicemail but I figured I'd leave a message and have them get back to me. Nope. "We are not able to take messages at this time."

Well at least you haven't had the Postmaster show up at your door & accuse you of running off his carrier at gunpoint

For those of you who assist how long do you wait? I thought I read it can take 12 hours to zip. My anxiety is kicking in and my brain isn't functioning well lol

I give them 24 hours usually after the pip.

Patience, my dear. If the chick is not progressing, but has a pip hole there very well could be a reason why she's not coming out yet. She could still have some very important business to take care of before coming out to join her buddies. I often leave a slow to zip chick up to 24 hours, or even to end of hatch, or when it's winding down, as long as she can breathe and otherwise sounds ok. Better to have her glued in the shell and have to soak her out than to try to assist too early and have her bleed to death.

Thank you! I will wait it out. Now need something to take my mind off that chickie! Tomorrow will be easy since I am going to our oldest daughter's school for their Veterans Day Assembly. I hope not to cry! Lol
