That's awesome! Good luck on lockdown. How many eggs made it? And what breed?
I want black eggs too!!
How am I possibly going to resist the urge to set a small number of eggs??? Seriously. I mean it's easier to talk myself out of shipped eggs because of the money and risk but free eggs, from my backyard!...this is going to be impossible!
I didn't know you set again! What kind, how many?
I was wondering how long it was going to take before you set some....lol

That's the thing trying you don't always succeed but you always try . I know it will be harder to assist in the GQFs they regain heat so slowly . to answer your question WV I think humidity its what I've been thinking all year long . I have been able to maintain temperature but humidity is harder .I knew there was a problem at day 14 . to much fluid and some small air cells . I locked down two days early . and used a whole container of Damp Rid in the hatcher .the humidity was around 27% and stayed that way. different results though . in the Farm Innovators the damp rid turned to liquid instantly . In the GQF hatcher the pellets stuck together and did not dissolve . no liquid formed in the bottom of the container . the one thing I'm going to like is the way the fan and heating element control the humidity . with the vents closed without the Damp Rid the humidity stays at around 30% so there wasn't much for the Damp rid to do. I paid a hundred dollars for the FIs they aren't worth fifty cents without being in a controlled environment . ambient temp. 65 to 72 degrees humidity less than 50% constant . and even then I don't trust them. I'm still working getting ready for the storm . be back much latter.

I was bit by a mosquito just now and thought about all these littles :/ i didnt vaccinate, but i know each of my adult birds have had it.

Yall know i have CMarans in the bator right? Someone reccomended to me to go all the way thru Hatch, "dry"... Idk? I was just following the routine so far, but when i lockdown i was gna fill one tray... I never do alot of humidity because well, i live in a swamp, nuff said. Whatcha think? Half the bator is marans. Air cells looked on target at day 14 candlin

I set 7 CLB eggs from Sally and 5 of her project eggs. And 4 of my CLB/EE cross eggs. So total 16. I set them last Thursday night. So they are coming up on day 5. I have not touched them yet. Going to wait till day 7. Lol!!!

Another of my homegrown fancies started laying...not sure which one yet. Darkest olive egg out of my flock to date.
