tinted! Ah!! I'm guessing the pic you mean is just her green zip tie leg band

That pic and even the one under from a distance looks quite green on my screen. Could just be my screen too. The one above it didn't look so greenish.![]()
I just won my first auction...Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhaubens and a few non-standard blues. I will crowd those Red Sex Links out with all these fancy beauties!
The poults are finally relocated to the coop. It was near 60 today and they were fine until dark, one got herself stuck in a corner that no way should she have been able to get into. She's okay, just exhausted from panic. Still trying to figure out how she did it...
One lone turkey egg in the hatcher, and TSC and FFH are not carrying turkeys this year (special order only, minimum 25) in my area. Gonna be a rough year for growing market birds since I am getting nearly 0% fertility since the girls started getting cut up by the boys.
We really need a facepalm emoticon here...
WV, AmyL is talking about the slate colored legs the Sebrights have...
AmyL, yes, Sebrights have very blue (slate) colored legs...

What do you guys recommend for a really good light for candling? The flashlight I used to use isn't working on these darker eggs.

Just wanted to spread the word in case it will help anyone out. I got an advertising card today that included a 10% off coupon code for Brinsea. The code is AGRP216 . It doesn't say when it expires.

I love my Spitz. I really do. Not only are they pretty but they have good personalities. Prissy wasn't the best mommy, but she's a great bird. Did you get the silver spandled or the gold? I plan to do another hatch and see if I can get some more girls and downsize the mixes that I aren't fond of.I just won my first auction...Spangled Appenzeller Spitzhaubens and a few non-standard blues. The $10 one I found at TSC has been the best little thing I've had. Did you see that military flashlight that they were advertising? My first thought was someone would blind some poor birds...lolYes we do need a facepalm!
And I wanna see poult pics too!!![]()
Highest lumens you can find! Check out the packaging, it should give you a lumens number. I got a tactical flashlight that is 325 lumens, but the batteries are hard to find and expensive. I normally use one that is 300 lumens because it uses AAA batteries. Dont bother with those cheap ones that are only like 20 lumens. Wasting your money. And I like LED better, but as long as its bright, it doesn't really matter. JMO
ETA - keep fresh batteries on hand too. They make a huge difference that isn't as noticeable when using the flashlight normally, but candling makes a big difference
Usually Amazon will have something cheaper than the Brinsea website, even with the code, once you add on the shipping charges. Well, on the Octagons and supplies, anyway. I've never seen the Ova Easy on thereJust wanted to spread the word in case it will help anyone out. I got an advertising card today that included a 10% off coupon code for Brinsea.
