Is there anyone around that could look at https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/1087896/please-help/10#post_16713399 and tell us if that is the intestines hanging from the chick. It looks like more than just cord to me, but I have never had a chick that had anything like this. It's also got unabsorbed yolk attached to it. Please? Thank you.

Was hard to see but chick 'umbilical' doesn't look like mammal umbilical... and with that being between the chick and the yolk itself, I'd say it's intestine... 'umbilical' would just come off the outer side of the yolk...

I've had "cords" still attached at hatch, but nothing like that. Feel bad for her and the chick.

Yeah, and the cords look way different than that... feel bad, cuz I bet she really doesn't want to hear my advice...

I was hoping I was wrong, but I was pretty sure and I'm glad you and walnut chimed in. The most humane thing at this point isn't the easiest thing to do.
