This happened in one of my brinsea mini's. The temp totally plummeted on day 21 in the middle of hatch! Thankfully I had another one that I could squeeze them all into. I called brinsea and it was covered under warranty. I shipped it into them and about 2 weeks later they shipped it back all fixed up.

that's what I am hoping Ruby. That they hatch in good health if at all. I will feel so bad if they hatch all messed up because of a mistake I should not have made. I will give Brinsea a call and see what we can do to remedy this. thanks everyone for the reassurance. I figured there was no way they were alive.
 
Well, it's been a week of not-so-patiently waiting and we candled last night. How exciting! This is our first incubating experience and I can see how people get hooked. So incredibly cool to see the little guys moving and the veining. My kids got to watch - my 10 year old son was mildly interested but my 6 year old daughter stayed and candled all of them with me.

I set 32 in all in 3 days - so yesterday was day 7 for the first 20. I went ahead and candled the other 12 and I could see development enough to make calls on them as well. I ended up pulling 7 and cracked them open, I believe they were all infertile - so no fault of the bator. They were mostly from 2 hens, 3 eggs each, and then 1 other hen, so that makes sense. I bought 8 Marans eggs and for sure 6 are developing, 2 I was unsure of so left them in. I was unsure of 1 or 2 other of my dark brown eggs so I left those in as well.

The Hova-bator is performing well I think, but I do have to fiddle with it, which is frustrating. It is maintaining temps between 99 and 100 and humidity is usually about 25%. About twice a day I add a bit of water and let the humidity get up to 35-40% and then drop down again to 25%. From what I could see of the air cells they looked right for the stage of development they are in.

All and all I'm pleased and hopeful will have healthy chicks in 2 weeks!

If I were you I would watch room temperature and see if it is dropping too .A several degree drop in room temperature can cause any incubator to drop . Brinsea is all plastic heat loss will be rapid . as long as the temperature drop was just for a short time . I wouldn't think they would be bothered much. Your fourteen day candle will tell you a lot. Good luck with the hatch

Seriously, I bet you would love them... super snuggly, sweet, and very talkative...
