She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Still beautiful! Sarasota is expensive! Towards the end I moved up to Bradenton.
This may be a silly question but here goes. When hatching upright in cartons what happens at zip time? Do they fall out of the cartons?
Oooh, something new to read!

Yeh it can be.

Here property is through the roof.

Very difficult to find an empty lot. The whole county's pretty much built out.

I lived there during the property crash in 08-ish. There was new construction everywhere and street after street of "for sale" signs. We moved to a big, beautiful house in Bradenton only to find out that even though we were paying our landlord rent each month, he was not paying the mortgage on the property. Then decided to move back to NY. I miss it though. Siesta key beach and Tampa mall, seeing dolphins swim while driving up the highway. Oh man, you've got me missing it!

They zip in the normal way, pop the hatch, stick out their wings and head, and kick and jump and struggle until they get all their parts moving in unison, then manage to climb/crawl out of the shell, across the carton, and generally take a quick nap right there before finishing the trip to the hatcher floor. Once rested, they get up and walk, they seem more coordinated after all that work.

I've been to Sarasota. Incredible sights.

No silly questions. Yeah, they complete the zip, and then eventually push out of the shell, and stumble out of the carton. Not pretty, but better than drowned in the shell, which happened to a few of mine in previous hatch.

So I'm sitting at the animal ER. I was watching the chickens outside and noticed one had something bulging out of her vent. It's rock solid and looked like poop. I soaked her in warm water and some came off and I was able to get a better look. It looks like a huge hard scab with raw tissue around it. It's bulging from inside the skin, right under the opening. Not soft but hard like cement. Her crop is empty but she's acting normal. I have a pic but no idea how to do a spoiler and it's pretty nasty. It smells horrible!!! Any ideas? We are waiting for the vet now.

That was terrible

I do live in paradise though!!

Rub it in, why don't you!! ;)

Ok, I got you guys. I was thinking individual cut out cartons! You're both talking about the whole bottom half of the carton intact?
