She said/He said Who's right? Who's wrong? No one!

Ruby!!! Vets esp when it come to avian type exams are super expensive. I just diagnose as best as I can by research and if it seems fatal I just watch for pain or discomfort then I dispatch. If not and it's treatable I do it myself.

So today is day 7 on those silkie eggs!!! So I am candling tonight Amd I will let you know how they do!!

Well I'm caving and firing up the incubator. Gonna put in some khaki campbell eggs and some WH eggs, and in a week probably some spitz eggs. I guess I better hope we do decide to keep that chunk of land to keep my birds on!

I love the fact that the diagonsis is basically a statement of what you could see but in medical words, with the addition of the fact it's got puss inside.
I would have though with that description they would have recommended surgical removal and biopsy.

:lau exactly!!! It's really not funny because it cost an arm and a leg but that's exactly what happened. The vet did want to do a biopsy and then possible removal, she offered me a payment plan! I had to draw the line there.

:hugs

Mmixedupturk here still haven't been able to access my old account or even my old email. You know how you never have to type those passwords? :he I had them saved on as note in my notepad also but it seems it must've been accidentally erased :he been searching notebooks for five days and can't find the actually written version either :(

Thanks!!
Sorry about the technical difficulties! At least you're back on under the new name. And I like it!!

Well Ross, after the exam I realized that the "avian specialist" told me what was already obvious and game me antibiotics and pain meds I already had at home. So yes, I totally agree with exactly what you said. To keep positive it was a learning experience. Next time I will have more faith in my own abilities! I can't wait to hear the update on the eggs!

Happy hatching! I've had some requests for chicks, so I'm setting again soon too!

I'm so sorry that it was a hard learning experience. :hugs

So after these 2 batches hatch I am going to be done for a bit unless someone wants more of what I got. ;)

I have one internal pip with my shipped eggs. I don't know who's talking, but someone is! I decided to keep them all upright in cartons, as they have been all along. There are 6 eggs from one source (day 21) and 12 eggs from an other source (day 20). Looks like there will be some success with these shipped eggs! My GD is here this week, so she's super excited.

Thanks! It seems pretty popular, but I did send the mods a message about my predicament and the fact that there are multiple users who can vouch for my identity. People I have actually met in person and who really know the person behind the screen name.

We set tonight! The dark brown are cuckoo marans. The light brown are white bresse. The left hand side o green is my EE, the right is Isbars :D

Good luck!! That there's a full bator.

I got up to one little grey chick from the first shipped batch. My GD wants you all to know that she was the first one to see it. It's talking up a storm. No other egglets talking yet that I know of.
Awe! Tell her good job! Lucky girl!
