She was supposed to be a Polish! UPDATED: Several weeks later!

He does look like a Crevecour, so I'd say that the feed store actually received an assortment of tophat birds and, for some reason, labeled them all as Polish. He's a very handsome little dude, though, and you'd probably hatch some veeeery interesting chicks from him and your hens.

I was at a JAX in Fort Collins, CO a couple of weeks ago looking at their chicks. The two of the three pens were labled, but some of the chicks didn't look right for the supposed breeds, so I asked about them. The lady there told me that they received three boxes of chicks, none of the boxes were labeled, and the signs were just a guess from what they had ordered.

She didn't think they got what they ordered and that was why the third cage was not even labeled.
She assured me that the store manager had called and complained, but since it was so late in the chick season, they weren't getting any more. She was not happy about the situation at all, which made me feel better about the store. She said she raises chickens herself, so she has some background for what the chicks should look like.

She said she was very sure about the Cornish X's though!

She actually excused herself during our conversation to go talk to a small child about pounding on the wire of the cage.
