Even if the hen didn't hatch from a blue egg, she could still lay blue eggs. The father determines the egg color, so what color egg she was hatched from is irrelevant.

That's good to know, I've read so much on here about breeding green egg layers, and everything I've read says the father determines the egg color.

I'm not sure if thats true. I breed a RIR roo with a Leghorn hen. The resulting hen lays big ivory eggs.

I still say this girl is a buckeye, she looks nothing like an EE.

Definitely NOT a buckeye.
