She Who Laid Her First Egg!! (Pic Heavy!)

She worked all morning...

...Well, almost all morning...

...But finally, it's here! She Who lays pretty eggs! (And yes, I did that on purpose. )

Here she is looking pretty (and a little concerned about all the attention she's getting) after laying her first egg. She's 30 weeks and 1 day old today.

After recovering from all the attention she got, she was looking much more like the usual, pretty little lady in the chicken yard.

Of course, she laid it on the shelf above the nest boxes that I have been trying (and failing) to block from the hens. Oh well.

Pretty little She Who has laid an egg every day since she started! (None yet today, but she's been talking like she's got one on the way.) Now her 'twin', Fancy, is talking like she may start laying, too.

Sorry, we're fresh out. It was 60 today and all our lovely snow melted off.


Apparently, I jinxed it. She Who and Fancy showed lots of interest in nesting today, but neither laid an egg. Oh, well.
