Wow! I'm all eggcited now!!! Let me get this straight. Here's my scenario: I've got a few backyard chickens, I'm also planning on building a new coop. If I sell my eggs, is all of this stuff a tax write off? Or are you guys like big time chicken farmers? Wow! Way to go!

In Ohio all you have to do is register your business with the Small Business Administration of Ohio. They all have web sites. My main business is carpentry labor but it also branches into any other field I choose. A tax person specializing in small business takes care of all the taxes federal and state deductions. I pay once a year at tax time 200 for preparation of my taxes and I have always gotten a refund. Nothing big but anuff to cover the price of tax preparation and a little extra. All these deductions are available to everyone in small business. You can do more research on the web under federal and state small business. John
