Sheep??

I want some sheep. What kind of fencing do you need?

Get hair sheep, unless you want and can shave the wool off every year.
I have Babydoll southdowns and love them. Tiny, friendly and so cute! Wool also makes a wonderful insulator for sheds, barns, houses, too. =D
Sheep are as easy as cutting butter with a hot knife. Goats...well, lots of rocks to cut through in that butter, and with your bare hands, too! No knife to make that easy...
Sheep don't eat everything, some breeds don't challenge fencing, mine don't and they easily could escape any moment. Very quiet and calm, too.

I use the regular sheep/goat fencing and I also use electric netting so I can rotate them around the pasture areas.
I have hair sheep, so I do not have to shear the wool at all.
Also, barbed wire fencing is generally NOT a good idea for sheep.

Im also thinking about getting sheep and just wondering are there any miniature breeds for sheep?

We stake our Jacob ram out all over the yard to mow and weedwhack. I stake my goats in the woods to browse occasionally and within 2 minutes they are usually hopelessly tangled between trees. One even fell down a ravine last week (despite being a breed of goat from the ALPS!!) and got tangled on the way down. Luckily, other than a little scuffed up, she was fine. But, the ram, no matter where I put him, he does a pretty good job of not tangling himself.

We also have a ewe distaff counterpart but she's been running feral in our swamp now for a few weeks (long story). She comes around at night to hang out with the ram, but we haven't been able to catch her. She's extremely skittish and wasn't handled much by her previous owners.

And the Border Collie I used to have died, so I don't even her to help us out with the ewe.

There are miniature Cheviots now, and the more popular miniature or "Baby Doll" Southdown. Regular Southdowns are considerably larger than the "Baby Dolls," typically mature rams weigh between 190 and 230 pounds and mature ewes weigh between 130 to 180 pounds, so just be sure of what you are buying.

i had a pair of sheep a while back that where a barbado ram and a american black welsh mountain/barbadoe ewe and they where pretty easy to care for you didnt have to shave them ethier they rub it off on the fence all though i got to warnyou they eat grass roots and all and can make a 50x40 pen dirt in just a couple of days
