    My husband and I just moved here from eastern NC and I have absolutely no clue how to find local laws regarding backyard chickens. I found the town ordinances online, but I didn't see anything pertaining to chickens (or any animals for that matter.) We have never owned chickens so I am completely lost when it comes to finding out what is allowed and what isn't. Thank you for any help you can provide!

    I can't find anything that mentions them at all. I did find that their definition of "agricultural use" includes poultry and a lot of minutes from local meetings about people demanding to keep backyard chickens (which leads me to believe that the current interpretation is that backyard chickens are not allowed).
