Does a chicken apply the shell to the egg? I have noticed lately my shells are all wrinkled on the end. Something like placing a casing on a sausage. This has just started in the last month. The shells are rock hard and of good color. Any thoughts?

How to answer? The egg hardens as it is exposed to air. It has a membrane on it that contains calcium I beleive. All right you longtimers help me out here. Some of the eggs do not come down the canal smoothly for many reasons. One can be disease, another is its just a new layer. Like I said longtimers HELP HERE Jean
