Shellless eggs

Thanks !! I have a broody who is raising 12 chicks and who is looking worse for wear bless her. I give her plenty of treats and she eats well but was wondering if baby vits might benefit her ? I think Lilly (my leghorn with the soft shells) is making steady progress and is putting her weight back on. She's mite/lice free and I do put a mineral supplement in her food which is not something I can do for my broody hen as the chicks are into all the feeders and I'm not sure it would be good for them ?

This isn't uncommon don't worry! Their are people I've heard about who have the same problem too. It is usually because of a lack of calcium. You are doing all the right things with feeding them oyster shells and their own egg shells. I also agree with the above posts about it being a thing that happens when they just begin laying, But my best guess would be they need more calcium. If this none of this is helping I suggest you see a vet or specialist about it or more simply check out videos on the web. Hope I was able to help and good luck
