Shells in the soil

My friend is building a new coop. We live in New Orleans and the area of her yard she wants to build on has loamy soil with lots of shell bit in it. Is it ok for her to build there?

There may be some health implications I don't see, but it looks like a good source of calcium for strong shells.

As long as the soil conditions will structurally support the coop, sounds like your friend hit on some free calcium. I wouldn't worry about it.
