my roo bravely fought neighbors (blankedy-blank) dog that CAME into our yard THRU fencing.
the other neighbor heard the commotion and drove over and honked the horn and scared the dog off, thus he let go of the roo ( we were not at home).
Roo ran off to the barn to hide. I found him and put him in the coop last night. I opened the coop this AM and he will not come out. He crowed this AM. He is standing and 'appears' to be ok , minus a few feathers. There are no external wounds. I do not know yet if there are internal ones, but feel that if so, he would not have made it through the night. he is just standing on the roost and refuses to come down. He has all his hens in there with him and they will not come out to eat or drink. I do not want to go in and handle him and make him come out ( fear of internal rupturing if he did sustain any mild injury that I can not see) . Do you suggest just letting them stay there all day? Anyone with similar situtation? TY for the advise.
