Hello, I am setting up a new area for my Welsummers and am looking for some ideas on shelter. I am using a 6x10 dog kennel set up on a cement slab by the barn. I do not have a coop or any inside area for it yet. I am not looking to spend too much money, I see coops for sale that are $700-$800 and not looking to spend that right now. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe I could use some type of doghouse up on cinder blocks or something? What would I do about a roost? Im going to put in my welsummer cockerel with a couple hens. So probably 3-4 birds in there. So it needs to be a decent size, maybe 4x4 or 4x6? Any tips would be appreciated.

i used to have just two females, i had an old woodshed with a beam spanning the sshed about 1-2 metres off the ground and a simple wire ramp leading up, if you want smaller a small beam accross the width of a dog kennel on blocks or bricks could work as a tempererary arrangement and it could be modified later.
