She's my baby! I don't wanna kill her, but I wanna do what's right...

i dont know if it would work, but like a teen getting braces, maybe going to the vet and they could stitch the top beak to the bottom beak (on one side), and maybe like a brace to try to straighted it out

Just because it may be 'easier to cull her' as your friends say to you, does not mean it is the correct thing to do. Easier is not always best! Be true to yourself on this. Like everyone else has stressed, you will need to be completely committed to this before you make your decision. You can't say you will give it your all and then walk away. her little life will depend on you. You cant decide that you want to back out afterwards and forget her. If you decide not to cull, but dont think you have the time to care for her completely, you may find one of us on here that would be willing to care for her.

I think she could have a good chance at a happy life! if you decide to keep her, good for you! you can do it. She will love you back 2x for it.: love

Hey Guys!!! This is Kailey! I forgot my password, and my email that I registered with is long gone. Ebony is now five weeks old, and doing okay! I use a PediPaws, and she eats all the time. Little under weight, but that doesn't stop her! She jumps and plays, and is always first to the dirt pan. She's definitely smaller, but now she has a problem.
I found an orphaned duck. Gertrude attached to me, and the little duckling gets jealous of the chicks. Ebony's jealous of Gertrude, and Gertrude is jealous of Ebony. Not good! Fighting over Mama! I will post pics as soon as I get my camera back.

I have a bantam Polish hen that has sever cross beak... her name is Freaky Fredia, LOL. She is about 6 months old now or so, and is the boss of the chickens in her pen. She has a little attitude and will chase and plunk the others in the head if they don't listen to her. I always keep a full food bowl for her, and her weight is good. She thinks she is a normal chicken.

So glad Ebony is doing well. Aren't you glad you didn't cull her. Kudos to you for taking care of her. Eventually I think Gertrude and her will get along.

I am so glad Ebony is doing well! I also use the pedipaws for mine and she seems to tolerate it well. Mine does not like the nail trimmers but will sit still for the pedipaws??? I am so glad you decided to give it a try! My girl is overdue on her trimming because she decided to go broody and I was worried she might peck my eyes out! LOL

They are totally different when they are broody. I might give it a shot this weekend. Wish me lucck! LOL
I hope her and Gertrude will get along soon!!!

I am extremely happy I didn't cull her. Last night I tried trimming her beak down, and she will not sit still for the PediPaws! But I do get a little off each time. I love her soo much! She even snuggled her itty bitty body into the groove off my shoulder, even though I just tried to PediPaw her beak. She knows I'm trying. Gertrude is a temporary, according to my Dad, but I will try to keep her.

Thanks to everyone for your support! She's long overdue on her egg though... I'm going to go fix that right now! Bye!!
