Chickens in the OC!
I have been monitoring her food intake and output and nothing has moved. I gave her some droppers full of water and massaged her crop and she smelled terrible. I gave her some olive oil (about 10 droppers full). Is this too much or not enough? We held her upside down, and massaged, but we couldn't quite get the stuff out. Any ideas? Sould I leave her till morning?

I had this happen recently to one of mine I thought she was going to die, but after getting her to eat some grit in my case I gave her sand and withheld her feed of course gave her plenty of water she was fine in 24hrs. After this I have made sure and keep a big pan full of sand where they can get to it and have had no more problems with this. Hope this might help.

update: I read on the forum from an earlier post that maybe I shouldn't have tried to get her to vomit. I will try the ACV tomorrow. I did give her a dropper full of yogurt. will try to hydrate tomorrow.
thanks all. any advice welcomed.
(I think Brussell sprouts might have been the culprit, but it says that this is caused by a fungus???)

I realized las night that my 2yr. hen has sour crop. She has been sick for a couple of days, so this has been going on since Tuesday. Read above for what me treatment has been so far. I'm worried that she hasn't eaten for a couple of days. I think some poop is finally coming out this morning. It looks dark green and has some of the oil from last night with it. Someone suggested feeding her mealworms. Any suggestions? I am going to give her apple cider vinegar and water by dropper. Should I just keep giving her that throughout the day, or should I give her plain water in between?
